Thursday Ten: Blogs or Websites

Here is your 2 Scrappy Chix Designs Thursday Ten blog challenge: List your top 10 blogs or websites. I know I have covered a similar topic before but it is always nice to introduce or remind chix of some great sites. Here are my top ten:

1. Etsy - Seriously I cannot stay away and I cannot not purchase!
2. The Pioneer Woman - Not a post related to papercrafting but a very entertaining woman that lives in the country.
3. Nicole Heady - One of my new favorites... crazy skills in papercrafting!
4. The Feathered Nest - Just some wonderful crafty projects and ideas!
5. Unpubbed - Challenge blog for those that haven't been published. One day, one day....
6. ScrapScene - Just a great source for all things papercrafty.
7. Scrap Smack - A place where you can smack the scrap industry anonymously as well as glean a crapload of great inside information regarding the scrap industry. Well you do have to weed through a lot of posts by trolls and spammers. But it is a fun read when you don't worry 10 or 20 minutes (uhm or a couple hours later) that you will never get back!
8. Silent Bob Speaks - A public diary from Kevin Smith. He made a post one day where he said "it was all blowj*bs and lollipops". Sorry to be frank, but that has got to be the greatest tag line EVER!
9. Dooce - Another non-papercrafting blog that I found somewhere... just full of funny story's about the authori's life. She also takes these crazy pictures of her dog on a daily basis. I seriously wish just one of my gabillion dogs was that trained to pose as I command, seriously!
10. Sublime Stitching - A fab arty company from Austin. The chick designs some kick-ass retro/trendy embroidery patterns.

So there are my top ten, I hope you get at least one new site to stalk from this list. Now give me your top ten and maybe I will find a new site or two to stalk...

Thursday Ten: TV Shows

Your Thursday Ten blog challenge from 2 Scrappy Chix Designs this week is to post your Top Ten TV Shows ever. You can list shows you loved as a kid or today, whatever. Here are mine:

1. Rob and Big - I so love this MTV/VH1 show. I didn't know who Rob was before but this is just great entertainment. "I love you mini horse!"
2. Gilmore Girls - Seriously sad that this show ended. I wasn't a viewer from the beginning but once I was hooked, I was hooked.
3. Sex and the City - Same as GG, not there from the beginning but one I was hooked. So excited for the SATC movie to come out. I love Carrie's wedding attire sneak peeks!
4. Still Standing - I don't think I ever watched this show when it was on regularly but I love it in reruns.
5. Grounded For Life - Just funny.
6. Scrubs - I love me some Chocolate Bear and JD.
7. Roseanne - People either hate Roseanne (personally) or they love her. I thought this show was a great example of just a plain hard working family trying to make it with all the personal crap you have to deal with on a day to day basis.
8. Entourage - Enough said.
9. Project Runway/Top Chef - Great entertainment at the expense of fashion designer/chef trying to make a name for themselves.
10. John and Kate Plus 8 - I so live these kids. I think it is funny how opposite John and Kate are from each other but at the same time it really works for them especially trying to survive 8 kids!

So there you have my Top 10. What are yours?????

So Sweet - Pencil Lines

Here is a layout I did for the current sketch #53 challenge at Pencil Lines. I used my new October kit from Cupcake Scrapshop. The kit included patterned papers from October Afternoon which I love! Everything on this layout is from the Cupcake Scrapshop kit with the exception of the Making Memories alpha stickers used to spell "Sugar" and the dog head reproduction German paper scraps. Thanks for viewing!

Scarecrow Festival: October 13 - 14, 2007

Chappell Hill, Texas, puts on two major festivals a year. The Bluebonnet Festival held each April. (I have been the last two years and it is wonderful. Plenty of hand-made goodies, carnival food, music, and just plain fun.) The Scarecrow Festival is held each October. I have been wanting to attend the Scarecrow Festival but have never went. This year is the year. I hear the entire community decorates for this festival. Scarecrows putting on their finest duds and hanging out for the fun. I seriously cannot wait. I hope to take some awesome pictures and of course will post... Is is Autumn yet?!?!?!?!?!

Thursday Ten: Movies

As you may or may not know, I post a blog challenge every Thursday on behalf of 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. Normally I kind of obsess over posting something of value... and then struggling to figure out what kind of challenge I want to organize. I have finally decided that the theme of each Thursday's challenge will be Thursday Ten. I will ask you to post your top ten of whatever topic I decide. Now this isn't an original idea... I actually saw this on a blog today and I thought it was perfect for us. So now on to the challenge...

Your challenge today is to post your top ten favorite movies. I think the types of movies you like says loads about your personality, humor, and basically what type of person you are. Now my top ten favorite movies are kind of eclectic but they show all my sides... funny, romantic, heartfelt, okay you get it. My top ten favorite movies (and no particular order):

1. The Holiday
2. Love Actually
3. Pride and Prejudice (BBC version)
4. Domino
5. My Dog Skip
6. Talladega Nights
7. 40-Year Old Virgin
8. Four Brothers
9. To Kill A Mockingbird
10. 7 Brides for 7 Brothers

I am sure there are more movies that I love but these are the majority. I change from time to time but these stand tall in my book.

Scrapping The Music Challenge #3

This is a layout I did with the September 2007 kit from 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. The kit includes chipboard, ribbon, embellishments, and patterned paper from Creative Imaginations Marah Johnson's Rock Star line. It also includes a sheet of patterned paper from DCWV Rock Star line and cardstock. It is a fantastic kit. (Sorry that my scanner cut off the last 1/2 inch of the layout).

Journaling reads:

These are my people
This is where I come from
We're givin' this life everything
We got and then some
It ain't always pretty
But it's real
It's the way we were made
Wouldn't have it any other way
These are my people

Not only did I work up this layout for 2SCD but I did it for challenge #3 at Scrapping The Music challenge blog.

* Lose a serious amount of weight, seriously.
* Live a healthier lifestyle.
* Be a mom.
* Travel internationally.
* Be financially sound.
* Keep a clean and organized house.

What is your life list? Post your link at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs.

New Challenge Blog

My friend Mary, flutteringby on 2 Scrappy Chix Designs, has another wonderful adventure that she has introduced us to... a new challenge blog. The name of the blog is Scrapping the Music. Think how much music plays a part of your life. How much music moves you. How music can change your mood. Well this new challenge blog introduces a new song each week. Your challenge is to take a part of that song and design a project around it. Does that mean use the title? The lyrics? The feeling? You tell us! How does the weekly song move you? Tell your story in your project.
